VST Working

 I now have succeeded in getting a VST program to work on the Wersi. On the VST screen I can adjust the settings as I play which is what I wanted to achieve. Now this works I may well move onto a more comprehensive synthesiser such as VCV Rack 2.

Still working on VST

 I still haven't managed to get a VST instrument working on the Wersi organ successfully installed yet. I can get one or two DLL's to run for a few notes, but then the VST crashes and sometimes takes the Wersi with it, so more investigation is required. The manual is weak here in detail.

Firmware Update

I updated the Canon R5C firmware. Then my son spent the next twenty minutes setting the camera back up to how we had it set up. I was not very popular.

 

Load Balancing

 Time to sort out the Load Balancer now that the networks have been restored. Some devices have to work from one ISP, some don't mind, and having changed the router all the network devices need to be changed. All this before we can do any work.

Virgin Working

 It's nice to have High-speed internet again. A nice man (David 25136) from @virginmedia arrived at 8am and replaced the Hub and we were quickly reconnected to the internet at full speed. Now to change all the wireless connections.

Fourth day without internet

The fourth day without the internet was a constructive day. reading the Wersi manual and then managing to get Miditzer and Hauptwerk to work on a computer running through Midi onto the Wersi

Third Day without internet

 

In a connected age, it is surprising what things won't work without the internet. Some things I expect, but other software still checks that you are online before not loading. @virginmedia say that it will be down for another couple of days whilst I worry about how I can work.

Second day without internet

Second day without internet. Eventually yesterday I managed to get Virgin's website to agree that the internet was down, and after lots of missed targets, the next is set for 1pm today. Thank goodness for a load balancer and two different providers.

Same spittlebug

 This spittlebug produced the cookoo spit but dried in the sun for a day. Its very beautiful and protects the bug whilst it feeds on my Wisteria.

Cuckoo spit

Cuckoo spit is a frothy white liquid secreted by the nymphs of a sap-sucking true bug known as froghoppers. It is harmless, and the insects that produce it are part of the biodiversity a healthy garden supports. Canon 100mm macro

Film Making

With most of the exams over, I now have more time to go filmmaking again instead of just trying to fit the filmmaking around my free time.

 

New Version of Resolve

 This is a week of AI add-ons. Looking more deeply into some of the new add-ons to Resolve in the latest Beta. Our subtitles have certainly improved, which with the translations, will help our foreign viewers.

AI Generated Music

How many AI music generators are there - lots and some seem to make quite random sounds, and others create more tuneful melodies and many different soundtracks. Getting these into a DAW is another problem.

AI created images

I wanted some photos of some things that I didn't have. Alternatives use a photo library or asking an AI to create these images for me. A few moments later I had the images I wanted created for me.
 

Capturing the kites flying

 Using the Canon EOS 5RC and the 70-200mm lens to attempt to video the kites in flight in the middle of a windy thunderstorm. Everything had to be handheld but the kites were really moving around.

Red Kites Overhead

 Outside in the back garden with the BBQ and 13 red kites overhead, some coming in low to see what is going on.

Fabric upgrade

 Didn't like the black stool cover for the Wersi, so upgraded it to white; now it blends in a bit better.

Flying Scotsman

 My son was up early this morning to watch the Flying Scotsman on its run up to Chester #FlyingScotsman

Two Pedalboards

 Two very different organs, an Eminent 3 manual and a Wersi OAX 800. Two different concepts of pedal boards, one wood, one metal. Both fun to play.

Syncing

Using the AI in DaVinci Resolve to create all the subtitles automatically. It's been a bit of a learning curve but we seem to have got it all working ok now.
 

Back to Business

 After recovering from 24 hours of photography in Cambridge, it is back to work creating thumbnails and video editing. Loads of footage to watch and choose for the new videos and more videos to script, film and edit.
