Took some 3000 photos and about 8 hours of video. Now to process this lot.

New 100mm Macro

 Just bought a second-hand Canon 100mm Macro Lens. Toyed over the EF or RF versions and decided on a second-hand EF version because we could get it cheaper and still buy some more toys and use it on all the cameras.

With and without the cameras. Using a jib for the overhead shot on either keyboard and a pedal cam for the foot pedals

Visited the @PodcastShowLDN yesterday.

Bigger and better than before, but more aimed at the higher end than before. Plenty on microphones and stories of how big companies made it big.

Podcast show 2023

 Off to the Podcast Show 2023. Last year it was very informative, so going again this year. It appears more extensive than last year, with lots of talks and people to meet.

Best Camera for the job

 Deciding on the best camera for the job. The overhead camera needs to be light and self-contained. We choose the Lumix FZ2000, a hybrid with a great zoom, lightweight and a multiangle pull-out screen. It has an excellent timelapse as well.

New Cable

A new cable arrives to make life so much easier by connecting a microphone to the oscilloscope directly without the need for other connectors and gender benders.

 

Getting the lighting just right

 Setting up the lighting to ensure that we don't get any unwanted reflections in the camera. Filming science videos is nearly a different setup each time, so we need to take the time to ensure the setup is the best we can.

On a journey with Virtual Studio Technology (VST)! It fuses software synths & effects with digital audio workstations, even the Wersi OAX organ. 🎹🎵 The learning curve? A bit adventurous, and includes a dip into German. #MusicTech #AudioAdventures

 Rapidly becoming our goto point and shoot camera because it can easily cope with landscape square and portrait videos simultaneously. The Canon R5C with the Tascam sound Module, a Rode shotgun mic, and a wireless Lavalier mic on me.

Resolve Speech to Text Editing. We have been trying out the new transcribe feature which automatically transcribes the video and audio clips. We can speed through to find where we said what and it has barely made a mistake.

Ready to Podcast

 The Rodecaster is primed, the lights and the cameras are ready the mics are in position, and we are ready to go with this week's Podcast on the change in the sea currents in the North Atlantic in the Beaufort Gyre, which probably will affect the north Atlantic drift.

Testing Resolve beta studio

 My son has been testing out the new Resolve Studio Beta. Some of the new features, like the autogenerated text, are fantastic. He has also found new ways to crash the software, like loading a file - to be expected with beta software. Overall an excellent thumbs up.

New camera setup for the new organ

 With the imminent arrival of the new organ, I am looking at a new setup for the cameras. The jib and camera to view the keyboard and one in front of me. It's very close. Do I use the GoPro or even a webcam and an interface to the ATEM?

Bank Holiday work

 The Bank Holiday comes around again this week. The Students miss out on those Monday lessons again but not here. It's business as usual plus a few more. Well it's raining outside so we might as well work because the exams are very close.

LIthium Battery life
