Two Pedalboards

 There are two different types of pedalboards: old and new. Both organs are about the same age, but one is a traditional type with an oak pedalboard, and the other has a metal one. The wooden one has a softer feel to it.

Success

 Success is when you beat the machine, and it does what you ask it to do rather than what it wants to do. In this case, get the Sail Manager to upload a CSV file.

Cold Photography

 Making films and taking pictures in the cold and rain means it is a bit more challenging to take photographs but using water-proof cameras helps.

ATEM Configuration

 Setting up the recording sessions with names and making sure all the camera feeds are correct ready to do the next production.

Wersi RAM Upgrade

 

Wersi RAM Upgrade. I have had a few issues with the Wersi on booting, which might be due to a lack of memory, so I am going to upgrade the Wersi from 16Gb to 32Gb of RAM to see if this makes an improvement. At £25 it's not a large investment.

Designing a Camera Boat

 We are working on designing and specifying a camera boat, looking at all the options. This one, a Whaly 455 Pro, looks a good contender with its low drop-down bow and ample space to place a tripod and perhaps a jib.

Compact Waterproof Camera

 Still, one of our workhorses is a waterproof compact camera. Go anywhere, take anything. Better than a phone for many shots.

Using the Visualiser to create notes

 Creating notes for students but including photos taken on the visualiser that the students can position to get the image that they need into their notes.

Boatlife 2024

Off to the NEC to see the Boatlife show, to have a look for my new potential Camera Boat.

 

Theatre Organ

 Getting that theatre organ sound on the Wersi using Miditzer working through the computer via MIDI.

BSC Expo

I am off to the BSC Expo in Battersea Park. We find this a good show as it caters for all cinematographers from the very small, like my company, to the very large.
 

Podcast Setting up

 Setting up the ATEM, Rodecaster, cameras and mics ready to record a video and Podcast., trying to cater for as many different platforms as possible.

Ring Flash

 Using Ring flash to get rid of as many shadows as possible on closeup and macro images. For video we have a ring light that archives the same effect.

Dye Sublimation Printer

 The old dye sublimation printer had finally died, so we have a new replacement. A4 instead of A3.

Organ setup

A camera on a jib right to the top of the ceiling looking down on the keyboard, a Pedal cam looking across at the feet and a small camera pointing at me. close to the monitor.

 

Studio setup

 The podcast studio is set with a green screen, lights, microphones and cameras. The script is done. Now, ready to record.

Online playing

 Sometimes it's just fun to play music online.

Editing 360 video

 Editing a 360 video is much harder than normal video.  Not only is there the conversion problem but then you need to select which part of the 360 you wish to see and which direction sound you require.

Insta360

 The insta360 is not just a great 360 camera; using a selected area, you can record many images that you might not otherwise get.

Online Chemistry Lessons

 Online A-Level Chemistry Lessons continuing looking at reaction mechanisms. The desk has nearly disappeared as technology takes over.

Radiacode

New Toy to play with. Using more sophisticated tools to investigate Radio activity and determine what the isotope is.

 

Videoing explosions in Chemistry

Saturdays are always a busy day for teaching, We need to get the cameras set up to record today's - explosions in Chemistry.

 

Working on the new Podcast

 The Rode is set up with the ATEM ready to record the Podcast, then it's off to the Music Studio to Zoom an organ lesson, then off to the third setup to do Maths lessons online using Zoom. Finally classroom teaching for the rest of the day.

Using a Synth

 Using the synth and an Oscilloscope to look at the waveform to synthesise some sounds and comparing to the original sounds to match, amplify, and accentuate.
