New life for an old camera
What do you do with your old digital camera when you upgrade - put it to good use as a Macro camera on an UltraMacro stand. With Multiple stacked images using Helicon Megapixels doesn't matter.

Making the vertical camera level with the table
To get everything to look right, it is necessary most of the time to have the cameras at right angles to the surfaces. For dramatic effects this can be changed but for science videos 90 degrees is the norm.

Glass Ball
Trying out the glass ball as a different fish eye lens on the new macro photo setup in the lab. I hadn't realised the effort to set this up correctly, especially sorting out all the lights.

Constant Height Apparatus
The water can only get to a maximum height so the pressure remains constant coming out of the lower tap. Made by on of my Dad's so that I can achieve a constant flow for the water clock experiment

Neo 3 colour flash
I have used 3 @Rotolight Neo 2 lights for a few years now, but at the @ukphotoshow this year with a bit of persuasion from my son we purchased the flash controller to turn these lights to flash units as well as getting a Neo3 for colour flash

New Macro setup
Bought at the photography show from Ultramacro.co.uk a wemacro vertical and horizonal focus stacking motorised control rails. We a few errors putting it together it really does produce some great images.

Rocks under UV Light
Trying out the @Adaptlux UV lights recently purchased at the Photography show. In a dark box we illuminated a Fluorescent rock with the UV light and then experimented how to get the best images.

SEE Hyper-TILT Head Pro - The ultimate positioning tool
The new @seerobotics Hyper tilt head has arrived very quickly from Poland.
On first tests it appears to as versatile as the adverts led us to believe.
We will be trying this head out in our video productions to see if we can get the
camera in close on the action.

Investing in more Pasco Equipment
Ordered the new @Pasco.scientific Wireless Geiger counter and sample holder. We have and older one but I thought it was time to go wireless and use this to bring more awareness of radiation to students. We await its arrival so we can test it out.

Still no power cable
My only complaint with the great canon R5C is that it still can't get a power supply to use the camera in the studio without batteries. Its been on order for quite a while now and no sign of one part.

Thumbnail creation
Sometimes thumbnail creation is difficult. Here it looks like several £20 notes in front of a meter. In fact the meter is 2.5m above the ground, and the camera is up in the air and I have to reach up as far as I can the hold the notes in the frame.

Theory into Practice
It's one thing to have a diagram of an experiment, but it is another to set it up and do it. We needed a can of propane small enough to weigh and make a difference but also a valve on it so we used a propane burner
